BUILDING SCHOOLS
The Nepal Initiative was a funding partner for Kids of Kathmandu for its latest school building project. Kids of Kathmandu specialises in building schools in Nepal, with a focus on rebuilding schools that were damaged or destroyed in the 2015 earthquake.
The Shree Golmeshwori Basic School is located in Jakarumti, Mandapur Municipality, Kavre, Nepal. It previously had six classrooms and 115 students in grades K-5 but the school wanted like to expand to take students up to grade 8; otherwise the children had to travel to another school much further away.
Kids of Kathmandu has built three new classrooms, a computer lab and a library, as well as providing clean filtered water.
Groundbreaking took place on 8 March 2020, and the building was handed over to the village on 7 October 2021!
