We are working with our partners at Light House Foundation Nepal (LHFN) to take over a guest house / library building in Ulleri (half a day’s hike from Pokhara) in order to use it for remote counselling for traumatised children. The owner of the building has taken out loans secured on the property and has agreed to sell it to us in return for repaying the debt. We will therefore be able to acquire the asset at a significant discount (around 60%) to what it cost to build.

LHFN will manage the property going forward. It will primarily be used to house traumatised children in need of a safe space and counselling away from the main LHFN hostels in Kathmandu. When not being used for counselling, it will function as a guest house in order to generate income to support running costs.

We are seeking to raise a total of US$20,000 (S$27,700) to cover the purchase cost and the first year’s running costs.
