Celebrations!
Another trip to Nepal, another unforgettable experience (multiple experiences in fact!).
The trip opened with 17th annual celebration of Light House Foundation Nepal (LHFN), attended by the Honourable Nawal Kishor Sah, the Minister of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens. The day was filled with inspirational speeches, awards, singing, dancing, laughter, and a delicious feast to mark this important milestone.
The rest of the trip was dedicated to spending quality time with the children. We bonded at the hostels, played some intense futsal (some of these kids are very good!), watched the girls doing karate and embraced the holiday spirit by decorating Christmas trees, eating Christmas cake and exchanging gifts. We also had a chance to visit the children’s school, although I’m not sure our presence was particularly conducive to learning!
As ever, we are so grateful for the work that Light House Foundation Nepal does to nurture and develop the children under its care. They always seem to radiate pure joy and happiness, despite the hardship and trauma that many of them have overcome since being taken in by LHFN. Their resilience is a testament to the love and support they receive, and it is a privilege to witness the difference LHFN continues to make in their lives.
